TUA MAO is a Chinese word that means Big Person. Literally, one of the owners, Derek is a big person. That’s how the Cebu Chinese Bistro, BIG MAO got its business name.
Bistros are small restaurants that serve moderately priced meals that are slow-cooked for their patrons.
The Bistro meals:
* Honey Soy Fried Chicken – whole chicken that is fried and glazed with honey. One of their best-sellers. Price: P230
*Quail Egg and Mushroom Siomai- rich in flavor and it’s made the Chinese style. Price: P45 (3 pcs)
* Mango Shake is priced at P60 and their Bottomless Iced Tea is priced at P96
The Chinese Bistro, Big Mao is good for group dining. They have rectangular tables instead of the known round tables in Chinese restaurants. You can bring your friends for some Chinese cuisine treats. It’s very affordable and the place is conducive for eating.
I’ve tried their SM branch as well and the ambience is also good. You can have your own private time amidst the space.

I wonder if they'll have a branch here in Manila soon...
if you ever go to big mao again, i recommend their spring roll and their salted duck's egg crusted chicken, the latter is a unique twist to the usual buttered chicken. if you are a fan of tofu, you should try their tofu dishes, they serve the best tofu for a non-japanese restaurant in cebu.
